cpu question?

Hello! Im  building my first amd 64 (3500+) system.My question is do we have to instal the processor drivers on to windows xp sp2?
If we do why?

Because all hardware installed on PCs seem to need drivers to work.

I build mine like yours and installed cpu AMD cpu drivers

No, there is no need to install the driver on a single cored athlon unless you want to take advantage of Cool & Quiet technology (that can be a good thing to save power and wear and tear on your PC).
