I guess this should go here.

Okay, so I've been putting it off, but I finally setup a FTP server so that my friends can take and leave what they wish on my machine. I'm useing the latest Cerberus client to host. Now the one thing that I'm wondering is how do I give my friends the address to my FTP. Currently it says that its 192.168.1.103, but I know thats just my wonderful router IP, and not the one I would need to give to others to access whilst they weren't on my network.

Any help is much appricated. However I did manage to get the security down pretty goot.

Cheers
Cameron

PS: as it would have it, IE7 really sucks for connecting to FTPs.

It's just your IP (click me) on port 21 as far as I know. Although you need to set up the router's NAT to translate port 21.

If your IP was 111.222.333.444 then 111.222.333.444:21 should be the FTP server.

ftp://111.222.333.444 should work too.

Thanks Jon, but I got it like five min after posting, I just was looking in the wrong section of the setup box.

For anyone that cares its:  24.218.44.90. If you want a account, let me know (Its a privet server) and I'll set you up.

Its because the server isn't up 24/7 yet. I'll usually have it up, but when I'm gaming, I usually shut it down.

I've also found that it likes it if you use a FTP client like SmartFPT much better than going through IE or firefox.

Also due to the security thats in place, as unregistered user, you can only see whats there, but you cant do anything. Once you get an account then you get access to take and leave what you like. PM me for your account if you want one.
