Intel GMA 900 128mb FS2004?

Postby masmith » Fri Sep 08, 2006 4:16 pm

How would a "Intel GMA 900 Shared memory max 128mb, with a 1.73Ghz and 1024mb of RAM" run flight simulator 2004?

This is a lappy by the way....Sony VAIO FJ

Thanks

You would probibly be looking at medium / low settings at around 15 ~ 20 FPS. This is what I got when I had about the same setup in a Dell 4600C.

Seriously look outside Sony. Yes they are pretty, I'll give it that, but the HP dv5000t configured like such

Intel Centrino Duo T2400 (1.8Ghz)
nVidia Go7400
1GB DDR2 RAM
80GB HDD
DVD Burner

Will cost $1010, or about 542 GBP, and will run FS soo much better. A setup like that should get you pretty much maxed out at 35FPS. I mean my friend who has a similar setup (2GB of RAM insted) gets between 25 and 30FPS in BF2, and around 60 in UT2K4.

Well I still think ill stick with Sony 15-20 fps is ok, and the Hp is......a.......lot bigger were I have to carry round my lappy at school also I like the features of the camera and the in-built mic. also I would imagine that on the battery life on the hp would not be to good.

But thanks for the advice...

Would this run BF1942, old game I know but I love it...

And the Dell 4600C only has 512mb of RAM so I presume the FJ would perform better from that view...

Just a quick note my last Sony had 512mb RAM and 3.06Ghz and a Radeon 9200 64mb :-[, but that ran FS just fine 30fps+ normally around 14fps with add-ons though but it was fine...
