textures not displaying properly

Postby Sooner266 » Wed Aug 16, 2006 8:10 pm

hey guys, there's another problem with my FS :-/
for some reason, like half of the textures arent displaying (none at all for some planes). it was working about a week ago. i think it might have something to do with a reflection add-on i downloaded recently.

???

To properly diagnose this I need your system spec, and FS settings. It could just be inadequate hardware, or a currupt driver.

Hard Drive: 80 GB
Video Card: RADEON 7000 SERIES
Monitor: ViewSonic Pro Series PF790 (1600x1200)

yeah, ok

scenery: medium low setting but dusk/dawn texture blending on, and terrain texture quality is high

aircraft and weather: highest possible settings (but i never use clouds)

hardware: basically, highest settings but 1280 x 1024 res. and bilinear filtering.

hope that helped

Tis what I thought. Your system is rediculously overstressed. Another 512MB of RAM and a new video card will fix that.

yes this is starting to make sense....
at first it has no problems, but as i view more aircraft it starts showing less and less textures, eventually none at all. but when i turn the graphics down some, it doesnt malfunction so quickly.

do you think that simply more ram would lighten the load enough to have a healthy balance of graphics and performance?

I would get a new GPU before a more RAM. Hopefully you have atleast an AGP slot. If not the best you can do is get a nVidia 6200 PCI
