My PC Doesn't Like My New Printer

Postby cheesegrater » Wed Aug 09, 2006 5:47 pm

I just got a new printer. It works fine. However, when I try to boot up my computer or restart it with the printer plugged into the USB port the computer has a seizure, keeps beeping, the keyboard num, caps, and scrol lock lights keep flashing, and it won't boot up. I have two USB ports in my mobo. One is used by the mouse. Any idea what is causing this?

Does your printer have a card reader in it? Might have to disable Boot from USB (or Legacy) in your BIOS.

One of my printers shows as having a removable drive. Might want to check that also.

Nah, the only thing the printer has is a power on button. It is a simple laser printer that only prints. I checked the BIOS and I don't think I have that option in the bios.
