Postby luke » Wed Jul 26, 2006 12:21 pm

Suddenly win explorer opens after start-up.

Anybody knows why?                   luke

Sounds like something has created a shortcut to the explorer. Check the taskbar, start menu or win.ini for any weird entries.

My "Starter" prog checks all those, but nothing shows.

where does it keeping pointing to? a particular folder?

sometimes, happens more on my mac than my PC, that settings will be saved from the last shutdown. like if there was an open text file, that will open up whenyour computer boots again. just givin my thoughts on this.

Opens up "D" partition / directory.

Made a search on "task scheduler " but does not seem to exist.

Do a search for a *.pif file(I think that's it) with a D:\ command line reference.

The *.pif bit did not help either, BUT on second look in "Starter" program I noticed "Fine reader" (a freebee I use for scanning typed sheets of paper and putting them into word) was running although have not used for 3 - 4 days.

I deleted that and "D", on which Fine reader" is installed, and solved the mistery.

Thanx for the help,                  luke
