PC problems

Hey people

im starting to have problems with my pc again.
A few months ago the motherboard crashed and the lads from the pc shop put a new one in (Asus) but shortly after that i started getting problems with sudden bluescreens and reboots.
The problem was that one of the 2 RAM sticks was foulty and they suggested i replace it by one 1028 stick.
I had them put in a Kingston ram and hoped the problems would be over.

But now its starting all over again when i boot the pc i get an error message saying the pc has been fixed from a major error and during games it crashes again and gives me a blue screen. (no error message on the screen just blue)
This does not happen all the time (yet) but i know this will get worse becouse i had it before

System=Acer T310 J96H when it came out of the box.
its a P4 3.2 mhz with 1028 Kingston RAM, ATI 9800 Pro 256MB As it stands now there is not much Acer left

There is not much original Acer stuff in it anymore becouse it all fails
I have had to replace the motherboard, DVD player the RAM and the video card uptill now, but that last one was a upgrade

i hope someone knows whats cousing these returning problems

Are all the fans running on your Processor, Graphics card, and Power supply...
..and the Case fans...?

Sometimes the fan bearings seize up due to lack of lubrication......!

Is the hardware actually failing or just in your rig?
Have you tried the hardware in another machine?

Seems odd that all that hardware would just go bad like that, maybe your PSU is frying components.

When the problems started i too was thinking it was a lack of cooling power so i upgraded it with better coolers and all are running great.

PSU=power supply? i might try to replace that one, i dont think there too expansive

Hi Serp...!
If you decide on a replacement Power Supply Unit make sure it it powerful enough to run all your new bits and pieces....
I would suggest a good quality 550 Watt PSU fitted with quiet fans...

Thanks for the comments , i will buy a new Power unit this afternoon if i can, hope it will fix the problems

Slow down. Now as it looks, yes it is your underpowered PSU that is frying your rig. However don't just go with the first 550W PSU you see. Theres a few things to look for, specifically brands.

Thermaltake
Aspire
OCZ
Connect X
Hiper

Those are a few of the bigger brands that will have good supplies no matter what. If you understand voltage though, PM Nick N and find out what makes a good PSU that way. CompUSA may have what your looking for, and Microcentre most definately will. However if I were you I would just go strate to newegg.

Just got a new one but they said 550 was overkill so i now have a 380W TAGAN TG380-UO1 (they said it was a good one

After i checked the old one only has 200W.

What are your system specs? You still may be underpowered.

A 380W PSU should be fine with that system.  Never heard of Tagan, but i had a quick look at some reviews from people using google and it seems good.

How is your system working now?  200w was not enough for your system.

It works great up till now it sure looked a lot more profesionel than the thing that was in it, it has thick wires and a specific wire for the vid card and stuff.

The best thing about it came when i took it out of the box and looked at it...theres a plane in the logo on the back of the fans

thats a great PSU I'm running a more power hungry pc on the 330w version... it's amazingly well built inside.

tagan is the BEST psu brand for consumers bar PPC.  Many will argue with this but having used antec thermal take etc and taken them all apart the tagans are just leagues ahead in their internal build quality and have alot more components and have very close attention paid to the airflow and cooling so that there are no hotspots.
