Nevermind, I got it fixed.  There was a random NSTT_NA that I missed.

I also went back and found the flickering fix, and now my sim is clearer than ever before, and Im getting great performance!

Well you turn on Adaptive AA in CCC.

@ John: Well I' think that the 9800s may be the exception, however all the others have trouble supporting the higher AA settings esp the adaptive AA. Also as we saw earlier many of the older notebook chips dont seem to want to go above 5.13

Well John they 9X, 8X, and 7X are supported YES, HOWEVER, I would not recommend those products use anything over the 5.13 drivers. The newer ones offer features that the older cards cores dont have, or will slow down the GPU pretty dratically.

@Ramos: Have fun with the new HDR stuff ;)

Cheers

this is BS you can't even turn on alot of the new features on the older cards and they are not selected by default anyway.

Did you read the post. I said that you cant use them if you have an older GPU, and I have seen my friends 9600 PRO take a preformance hit with 6.4

meh you can't support a hypothosis on an isolate accourance I would prefer top go with ATI's advice over an iscolated acourance.

I use the 6.1 drivers with a old Gigabyte Radeon 8500 64mb card.

Actually... The drivers, all the way up through 6.4, will work just fine with older cards (below the x1XXXX series) however with the introduction of the 6.2 and 6.3 drivers there is a change which may adversely affect the performance of older cards. I cannot say for sure the 6.4 drivers continued that however the 6.2 and 6.3 drivers do apply a greater CPU load to cards up through the x850XT PE series.

That does not necessarily mean a noticeable loss of performance. It really depends on the system and FS9 setup.

Enabling adaptive AA can have nasty visual anomalies in the x800 series of cards. The 9800pro however tends to like adaptive AA enabled and for some reason that hack is one of the better ones for the 9800pro. My x800Xxt starts to seriously malfunction with A-AA enabled.

emmanuel,

Actually, I don't think so.

Look at the list.......... they specify the X850 and the X550 series...... but there is no listing for the 9XX0 or the 92X0 series.

Not positive... but I think that 9X00 series mention only applies to cards ending in the two digits "00".

None at all... just the annoying RTD corruption on anything higher than 6.1's. Otherwise they work great.

ATI told me to RMA my card so I sent them back a "G-F-Y" email with 15 pages of technical data which show the problem with x800 video cards and their drivers above 6.1.  LOL

They emailed back "Thank you for the feedback we will look into this immediantly"

LOL

that may have just been you. i did various tests with Catalyst & FS9 and found no problems.

it did however fix an anti-ailasing issue i had with 6.3. im not sure what it was, but all AA on catalyst worked mabye 3/4 of the time.

thanks nick. :)
