im sorry i cant help that much because my computer knoladge is limited it would be much better if you got Congo or Ctjoyce to help

Btw have you installed any other games and do they work if you have and they dont it most probably is a hardware problem

You aren't by chance trying to run FS9 in SLi mode are you?

BTW I have found that most drivers for the 7800 don't work nice with FS9, most of the newest ones fixed previous issues.
I had some crashes at first and then corruption of graphics in sim, such as building textures covering the runways lol.

Now am using the 82.12 drivers and FS9 works wonderful.

And for the ram, I had two gigs installed but removed one stick and FS9 runs better, may be due to the fact that Windows doesn't know what to do with more than a gig has a bunch to due with memory management and page file stuff I wont go into becasue I confuse myself most times LMAO!

4 gigs may be something for Vista when it comes out but IMHO overkill and wasted money for XP.

But I say it has more to do with your two cards and Im thinking you might be trying to run in SLi, I have managed using both cards in FS9 with some nice improvements but using the second card for SLI AA, but overall better performance I run in single card mode.

SLi rocks in all other games! CoD2 for example is amazing!

Reinstall FS9. If it were drivers, it would have crashed after the splash screen.

On another note, what a waste of cash. Yes that is a dream rig that any of us would want, however most of the resources will remain unused. For starters, take 2GB of RAM out. Its actually slowing down windows, and most will remain unused no matter how many things you have open. Second you should have done a little more done a little more resurch on your processer. As a number cruncher its fine, however that 512MB L2 cache is limiting how much power your actually getting. A 3700+ would easily outbench it, and is also about $100 cheaper. Next you should have looked more into your mobo / sound card. There are some pretty major issues between NF4 and X-FI cards that have been comeing up, and still havent been resolved. Basically NF4 isn't useing the chip to its full potential, and therefore your getting Gamer ZS quality from your $120 card. Then theres the issue of your choice of GPUs. Yes, two 512MB cards are a gamers dream, however 2x 7900GTs would have out preformed them, and cost about $400 less. Finally 3 Raptors? I hope you have HDD coolers on those. I have a friend that had three loosly spaced, and under "normal" PC conditions. They generate so much heat when they spin, that the middle one cought fire. He now has only one (systen drive / Steam drive) and one 300GB 7200RPM for everything else.

Sorry to rip into your $3K+ investment like that, however you should have taken a bit more time into looking at what you were actually getting, and not just at pretty numbers.

Well I think he was mad, because I had made him realise what a pile of cash he had just wasted.

However it was a curruption in his FS9. Probibly just needed to defrag, and reinstall.

Gentlemen .......... the guy came here asking for help. There was no need to go into the in's and out's of his rig unless it was a direct question pertaining to it.

A simple defrag and reinstall would have been enough

In these forums we attempt to help everyone no matter how trivial or mundane we may think their plea is. That is irrespective of their equipment, percieved experience or question.

Next time please take this into account as we don't want these forums to be seen as aggressive and hostile.
