Out of stock part

Postby caveman16 » Thu Mar 30, 2006 10:50 am

Good Morning Guys and Ladies,     Here's wishing you ALL a very nice day and may your problems be very tiny.

As most of you know by following my present  POST that I'm in the process of building a PC just for FSX and VISTA..

ctjoyce and congo are the main helpers with good comments  and suggestions from others.

As I check out the items / pricing / and the reviews ,  I'm almost ready to buy the parts and get it together  - - -as such.    But only with your continued help which is GREATLY appreciated.

The  recommended  "GPU "  newegg.com / item # N82E16814130249      was  out of stock  and now it is not even listed.     Would you recommend another supplier or another  "GPU "  ?

Thanks again for your much needed help,

hold off on the vid card. Dx10 isn't out yet,and buying a card now would practically be a waste of money. i you have a card to throw in this PC for now, do that.

but if you want to, a 6600GT has been widely reccommended.

Meh, DX10 isnt but a distant dream. Nothing is going to support it fully for the first two years whilst everyone switches to Vista. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130277 I think thats what I suggested. Unfortunately the 7900s are very popular, and hard to find now.

Cheers

Don't panic, caveman, the cards will be back in stock very soon and we may even see a price drop, so loosen your kilt and wait a few days or so.

Are you getting this thru newegg? Name your supplier and we can have a look at alternatives just in case.

Hey Guys,     Do you think you can stand more of my  "lack of  PC parts intellect  ?     I hope some of my questions will give you a SMILE   ;D

Ramos,    Thanks for a possible part should the other not become available for some time. [ There is a sorta time frame ] .      Appreciate your thoughts.

At this time lets all  "lighten up" and take a smile on  ME.      What is this "  DX 10   "   I keep reading about  ?        Also if that didn't give you a smile - - - try this one - - --  Am I reading the reviews correct - - - sounds to me  that a  "motherboard" comes with this video card you suggested  cameron  ?   ;D       And another question concerning this  "card", Do I still need two of them ?

Congo ,  Yes - -  www.Newegg.com is where I will be getting [ at this time ]  all but one part which would be the power supply.     My Friend,  you GUYS  keep my finger off the PANIC button - -  can't go wrong with with you guys helping me .    I'm in no hurry  - -  just want to get it right the first time ,       too poor for many  "shots" at it.

You "Guys are just GREAT - -  Thanks  so  much,  - -  caveman

The truth of the matter is probably more due to the fact

Hey  congo,     appreciate the info,  as you know ,  I'm 72 and have been seeing this kind of  "stuff " for many years and many of those that "watch over us "  look the other way.

Thanks for the new input,  will check it out. I'm in no hurry  - - just want it right the first time around.        Wishing you and all you  "others" a nice day.
