Wreless Networking

Postby ctjoyce » Sun Mar 12, 2006 5:45 pm

Okay so even CTJoyce has a question every once in awhile. So for the past two years I have had a Linksys 802.11G "Speed Boost" Network set up in my house (Mum has the ethernet, and me and the sis are on wireless). Now recently with all my neighbors also getting wireless in their homes (as comcast has made cable internet very cheap) my signal is being disrupted. So what to do what to do? Ahh I've got it, I need a range adapter (dont worry I'm 128Bit WEP encripted) but there are so many. I looked at the Linksys ones, and they have gotten mixed reviews and consumer reports didnt give them the best score ithor. So now the question is who uses what. I also read a review that said that someone with a Linksys router was haveing trouble running a Netgear extender.

Help me out guys, you dont want me flickering online anymore do you?

Cheers

Well I had the some problem, scan the wireless networks and see what channels they are on, most leave it at the default, so change the channel, should clear up quite nicely

Well I changed the channel to 10 when this first started happening (defult 8) and are still haveing problems. I thought it was that too, but I've used all of them with no avail.
