using dual moniter with two card

Postby candle_86 » Thu Mar 09, 2006 3:41 pm

Alright I just got a use 17in comapq to go with my 15in. Now I have a PCI and an intergrated card. I want to use the intergrated trident i7 to display 2d and use a 2nd screen in windows if possible. What do I need to do?

no. wont work. the video couldn't slipt between the PCI card and the onboard. i have a radeon 7000 PCI, and i wanted to hook up a thrid monitor, cause both monitors on my X1300 are filled., but it didnt work. i suppose the same for this situation.

ok got bored and played with it. Set my motherboards intergrated on and set it to use that as primary adapter. Then when windows loads it switchs to the Radeon 7000 PCI card as primary. Works great this way.

Aparently he is running three monitors on the onboard card, and the Radeon 7000. I'm still not quite sure how its working (though it does make sense). I alawaies thought that there would be a conflict in the two different chips.

Ok yall, my main card is a PCI video card, the intergrated is using the AGP bus. I dont have two cards on the AGP bus, thats why it conflicts. Id use an AGP port for my 9000 Pro if i had an agp port
