its removeable* with a sodering iron and some solder wick but be careful not to burn the pcb

*KDSM does not in anyway condone removeing soldered on memory chips

I can send you a Cirrus Logic from about 1993 with removable ram, comes with 1mb on it and another 1mb through memory expansion slot

older ones used to have ram slots.  For example you would buy a 4mb card and then buy a kit to upgrade it to a MASIVE 8mb.  Not seen any younger than about 96' with this feature though.
