Fix for new system

I posted a problem about my new system regarding
poor graphics in FS9 after the computer ran for 30to40 minutes. The problem ended up being the AMD-Athlon
4440x2 over heating.The fix will be found at AMD's Driver
Page under version 1.2.2.2. Now I can run the flight-sim
full-out with very few flickers.100% better. Thanks for all the help Ken

Sounds like a driver problem was causing his CPU to overheat. That would make me question the integrity of this shop if theyve done this more than once. Yes they know how to build, but can they make it run ?

Congo,you got me where it hurts. I am a retired Milk Man/ gear-jammer,who only found computers in 2001.I had no use for them until my brother in-law introduced me to his FS98. I was introduced to PC's through my brother's Flight simming , but it was a fair bit earlier than FS98 days

Congo,the Fireboss handle came from my volunteer fire fighting day's. I also found out that the tech. who assembled my computer turns off the"Cool and Quite"mode on every installation. He turns up all the fans to the high settings. I disabled the cpu monitering device you refered to because of processing drain. It seemed like a good idea at first,but you couldn't moniter the cpu in an  open window with FS9 running. So whats the use. Ken

Oh, it was cool & quiet that was the culprit..... never used it. Thanks for the feedback.

You can run FS9 in windowed mode to monitor temps while in the sim, I do it temporily when testing my systems when they are new.

Just bear in mind that full screen anti-aliasing doesn't work in windowed mode so you won't get accurate performance figures, I think that windowed mode is displaying less pixels so it may increase performance even further than the boost you get with FSAA disabled.

Just thought I'd mention it.

Am still not sure why C&Q would cause the problem. I have no doubt that you are correct, but would like to know how or why C&Q malfunctioned.

I have two single core computers  and one dual core that  run C&Q  without a problem.

At idle they make about a 5 deg difference in temps and have never failed to throttle up when needed.
