AMI Bios

Postby luke » Sat Feb 04, 2006 8:07 am

In present Bios I cannot find HTT values
AMI:-   64-1009-009999-00101111-121405-C51G.

The previous A8N-SLI mobo had PHINIX Award BIOS and could find it there.

Anibody knows if I can change to this Bios on A8N 32 SLI, only by upgading it.

Asus A8N 32 sli deluxe
Chipset nF4-sli

That bios should have the option luke.

Precision Tweaker:
- vDIMM: 8-step DRAM voltage control
- vCore: Adjustable CPU voltage at 0.0125V increment SFS (Stepless Frequency Selection)
- FSB tuning from 200MHz up to 400MHz at 1MHz increment  <---it says so in the specs
- Memory tuning from 400MHz up to 800MHz
- PCI Express frequency tuning from 100MHz up to 200MHz at 1MHz increment
Overclocking Protection:
- ASUS C.P.R.(CPU Parameter Recall)

No, you really don't want to put in a BIOS from a different board. Things may not work. ;)

Your HTT settings is in the advanced chipset configuration. They call it the K8 to NB Frequency. Set that to manual and you'll see your HTT speeds. 800mhz = 4x,  1000mhz = 5x, and so forth.

One of the values is the HT multiplier and the other is the speed luke.

if the speed = 200 and the multiplier is 5x, then the FSB is 1000mhz.

If you go much over 1000mhz, you'll get crashes, so use the multiplier at 4x or less when overclocking the Hypertransport link (like a FSB setting, amd64 style).

For instance, when you use the slider in clockgen to move up the bus speed, that HT multiplier should be set so that the speed shown in clockgen, times the multiplier  is less than 1000.
