graphics card was 256 now 128

hi.  i posted a question asking how to improve the frame rates on FS '04 and was advised to download an optimising driver for my 256mb GeForce 6200LE card.  i did so but i have noticed that it is now telling me my card is only a 128mb card and not a 256mb card like it was before i installed the new drivers.  the drivers work perfectly and have cured my problem, im just curious to know why its apparently now only a 128mb card.  thanks in advance!!!

Its still a 256mb card, drivers are probibly a bit buggy though.
3rd party ones have a tendency of doing that.

Try seeing if your BIOS has any settings for graphics memory, you'll find probably, its set to 128MB.

For what its worth, you'd have been FAR better off with a 128MB 6600 than a 256MB 6200, its not the graphics RAM that gives you performance, its the graphics processor. The 6600 is more powerful than the 6200, hence the performance gain.  ;)
