Big problem with windows

Postby ctjoyce » Mon Jan 09, 2006 8:44 am

Okey so heres my problem. last night I went to boot up my computer after about 6 houres of FS. The motherboard ran its cycly, but when windows went to load, it took forever (I'm talking Mac load times). I was listening to iTunes, and playing CS, when CS crashed. Now this is a tad normal for me when I play Steam games right after they update. I thought it was nothing, so I wated for the computer to shut down, but just shut down the PSU after about 10 min out of frusturation. I then again rebooted, and got my Mobo bios checks, then wated with a black screen for about 20 seconds before I got the normal windows loading screen. So I go and watch a movie, and return 2 and a half houres later to find windows still loading. So again shut down the comp, and boot in safe mode. When safe mode boots up I get this message that says "Disk in drive C is not formatted. Would you like to format it now?" Ofcourse I say no, as It booted so It must be formatted right? Anyway Look around safe mode comeing up with nothing I figure that I would post here and ask for help. Now I think that the drive may just need to become slaved to someone else's computer, then defragmented and it'll be fine, but I wanted to see what you had to say before I just go jumping to the XP disk.

Cheers

Why don't you try a System Restore from Safe Mode? Dunno if that'll help but it's definitely worth a try... :)

Ya I just left it off all day, and came home, booted her up and she just loaded. I think what happened was that my main HDD was under too much stress and needed a break. So she is fine now, and my main drive is now defragmented so we no longer need to worry about that.
