External Hardrives

Postby Gary R. » Wed Jan 04, 2006 4:48 pm

Are there any external hard drives that are capable of running an OS?  Are there any external hardrives that can run an OS and boot the PC up?   Another question.  Is there any such thing as a USB modem of any kind?  Thanks.

I'm pretty sure any ole External HDD will run an OS... I looked into em but out of my price range, so I settled for a 120 gig internal.... and as for booting up, prolly would and of USB Modem.... Yes most DSL/Cable modems I know of  are USB/CAT5 (I think its cat 5) Anyways it hooks up kinda like a printer..... Cheers, Gunny

Yep my ADSL modem is USB 2.0. Easily fast enough - gets the 2.2Mbit throughput without a hitch 8)
