New Mobo-Problems sorted-At long last...!

Postby Fozzer » Sun Dec 18, 2005 6:28 am

Hello all...
Some of you may remember the problems I had over the past 3-4 years with my Gigabyte GA-7VT600-L motherboard...
It often refused to boot-up into POST, which meant that whenever I managed to finally get it to work each day, I had to to keep it running all day...(LOADS of electricity!)...for fear that it wouldn't start-up again... :'(...!
LOL...!
Anyway...
I have finally replaced it with another Gigabyte Mobo: GA-7N400SL...this time with the new nVidia chipset, instead of the old VIA chipset which the GA-7VT600L board had... ;)...!
...anyway...(again)...
After installing the new board and all its various bits of hardware, I noticed that my Floppy Drive was no longer working. The light was constantly "on", and it wouldn't recognise a floppy disk when inserted...
:'(...!
..So..
I went out and bought a NEW floppy drive, fitted it...
...same preblemo... :o...!
"Buggar!", I thought...
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

Yes, if the floppy drive light stays on, plug it in the other way, lol. I think that was a test question on my A+ exam.

Glad you got it sorted!
