Saitek X52

Postby chief1995 » Mon Dec 12, 2005 9:27 am

I just bought a Saitek X52, does  anyone know of a website where I can get information on programming it? I went to the Saitek site and it just has a few FAQs.
Can anyone with experience with the X52 suggest key assignments IE: I can't find a comfortable trim key, or flaps, etc?

Thanks to all,

Chief

There's a profile for FS on the Saitek site ......... and for several other games/sims.

Not sure about the X52, but I have an X45, and the software to program it should be on the disc...it was pretty easy to do with the X45

Yes, it did come with a disk and I have been able to assign some basic keys, I guess what I am looking for is a forum or more reading material besides the very basic user manual that came with it.

Thanks,

I pretty much had to learn by trial and error with my X-45. You are best however to get the latest software from the Saitek website. I used the disk and had  a heck of a time getting the programming software to work. I called Saitek and found out that I needed the updated software.

Same deal for me as Matt. After installing the drivers for the stick so as to make it the default controler I just went to the controller assignments in FS and assigned the functions to the stick and and throttle that were most confortable and easiest to use during flight. Not enough buttons or switches for everything, but the most frequently used.

Whatever you do, don't upgrade the drivers from the MS update page.

If you update the drivers you then have to update the programming software too. It is slow to download and might not work anyway.

The drivers that come with the stick work fine.
