Radeon 9600

Postby Tequila Sunrise » Tue Dec 13, 2005 11:52 am

title says it all really, its in place and secure however my monitor dosn't want to talk to the card. If I use the motherboard socket I can't reinstall any drivers incase thats the problem since theres some kind of security feature on the disk and the download packs that wont let me install them since it cant detect the card...   ???

anyone have any ideas or do I have to go kick a salesman in the nether regions?

Does the monitor do anything at all when you connect it to the card?

If not, take the card out and carefully clean the contacts with a pencil eraser. Then push it back in gently but firmly.

Thats the GPU crashing, which means that its too hot, or a driver issue. Get a clean install of the Cat 5.11 drivers, and clean out the inside of your case. If all else fails, get a Zalman sink on there.

Cheers

Craig, I have the Radeon 9600XT card. Very nice. 8)
Is your motherboard up to date - it may not be compatible if it is old. As for overheating, does it come with the monitor engine thingy - (forget its name)? You can easily use that to keep an eye on the temp and that.

If you are new to the card would you like to have a screenshot of my already tweeked settings?

You can also use ATi Tool to monitor your cards temps.
