Joystick interface

Is there any way to convert a microsoft  sidewinder force feedback 1 joystick with a gameport connector to work via another interface (preferably usb)?I prefer the "feel" of the earlier stick but my new computer has no gameport.

There are adapters you can buy to plug your gameport device into a USB connection. I had the same prob with a Wingman extreme before switching to a Saitek X45.

Here's an example, this particular one has been discontinued but other s are available:

good luck
