Ive had this problem before.

1) Do know of any virus within the system?
2) Try running in safe mode, once logged in do a virus scan.

Try those to see if you get anywhere.

Hit F8 before the WIn Load screen, sometime after the ram count, just keep tapping F8 until the menu appears.

So, you can't get into safe mode by using F8 key?
And you tried tapping F8 every second after the first "beep" until the loadscreen appears?

Anyone else got any ideas?

hmm, I have had that problem 3-4 different times....

Every time it has been a bad power supply. If I don't have a solid concrete answer on to what is causing troubles within my system nowadays I will reun down the street and pick up a cheap power supply to test with. As always if that doesn't work I can take it back and get a refund of my money.

Of course last time I was just sick of it and went with a seasonic 500W power supply for $120 I think is what it was and I have been running happily and much quieter than ever before.. :D

There are programs you can download, that would recover lost files if you did a complete reboot.
I can't promise they will work 100% as I have only ever used it once, it worked with moderate sucess.
