Left-handers Unite!!

Postby code911 » Fri Nov 04, 2005 7:15 am

Any other left-handers out there looking for a left-hand HOTAS setup?

I've been a flight simmer for years and have always run into the same issue with controllers being designed for right-hand users.  There are a few makers (CH Products & Saitek) that make a ambidextrious joystick...but I want a true HOTAS system.  I emailed Saitek and Mark  Starret, Product Marketing Manager responded to my email.

Mark said that only 15% of gamers were left handed and it was not enough of the market to make a left-hand version.

So I think that all the left-handers who are sick of settling for a generic flight controller should email Mark (& Saitek) and show him exactly how many people 15% of the population is.

His email is mstarret@saitekusa.com or info@saitekusa.com

Oops....I just fell off my soapbox  ;D

Try telling that to Airbus drivers  ;D ;D

I don't honestly think you're going to get anywhere .....

A. Because even if all of the 15% of left handed gamers were interested it wouldn't be that many. It's also unlikely that even 2% of those gamers would be bothered to complain.

B. Even if you did get one made the unit cost would far excede anyones budget and the budget of the manufacturer.

C. As from my Airbus example above ...... Aircraft manufacurers don't change the setup just because a Pilot is right or left handed they fly just as easily either way after some practice.

There you go ......... probably the answers that you will get to any email.

cheers
