i have just bough a dedicated games machine and here are the specs..

pentium 4 3.0 processor
D865 PERL motherboard
60GB hdd
1GB ram
combo drive (DVD+CDR/W)
128 VGA (ge force 4 i think...).....

Hi, your PC is pretty much there, however, the graphics & expected fps rate depends entirely on which GeForce 4 you have, I would'nt expect alot from a GeForce 4 MX, but, a ti model should give you reasonable performance.

To be more accurate, it would help if you said exactly which flightsim you have installed.  ;)

Your system specs are good enough for decent frame rates (+- 25 - 35fps with moderate resolution and filtering options and most FS9 settings maxed).

If you are not obtaining that, then your video card isn't up to the job, but we have no way of knowing what it is unless you tell us.

If your card is ok, then you have other problems.

If your card is a GF4, it's time to upgrade if you lack performance.

Look at a Nvidia 6600GT or radeon x800GT as minimum spec. You will need an AGP card for that old mainboard (8x AGP graphics slot)
