Info on network ASUS 2 LANs PC & a no Lans PC

Postby luke » Tue Sep 20, 2005 10:12 am

For info,

After the Help from Congo and all the other kind people to set me up networking, once again,
just managed to network & ICS an Asus with 2 LANs and an older PC with NO Lanns but an Ethernet card.

Both use winXPsp2

Connected together with only a Cat5 crossover cable.

BBand is used.

Screen-shots of the settings are available If anyone needs them.

I am still working on getting PC2 to print off PC1's Panasonic dot matrix.               luke

I'm still sticking with my recommendation to get a switch with a built-in router.

Would solve all your woes and increase performence.

Its not expensive either. I've seen switches for less than $40.

Thanx AutoP,
thing worked OK before with win98/XP and seem OK now XP/XP.

I had help on the printer setup too, and it prints OK now.  Will check the scanner later.                   luke
