Motherboard chipset drivers

Postby Steve_Butka » Fri Sep 16, 2005 3:21 am

Does anyone know how I can go about installing new ones?

Someone I know suggested I do so after describing my graphics problem to him as he had a similar problem.

This card is pretty high-speed and I really should be able to run flight simulator with it.

If this doesn't work, I'm just going to buy a new card and sell this one....pretty much for any price.

if anyone can help out that'd be swell :)

A little info on what kind of mother board and graphics card you have would be helpful.

You should be able to go to the manufactures site and download the newest drivers for your hardware, uninstall the old drivers and load the new ones.
Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe
Intel I7 3770K w/ Corsair H100
Thermaltake Level 10 GT

The mainboard driver that you are thinking of is the AGP or GART driver. It interfaces the AGP bus I believe.

It's possible but not probable that this would ever be a problem as long as the original was installed and since then not corrupted or removed. I don't see where an upgrade would be needed, they either work or they don't.

I think you'll find your problem elsewhere. What G card do you have etc?

I agree with congo in that its probably not the mainboard drivers.

Try uninstalling your current driver and use driver cleaner pro. Then install the newest driver's off ATI or nvidia website. Don't use the drivers that came with your card cause those are usually outdated.

BTW, would you describe your gfx problem more specifically (like weird colors in game or games crashing or something moe specific than just gfx problems). It would also help to know what kind of gfx card you have.
