Whats the longest that you guys have had a graphics card for?

1 year. (The transition from 9800 to x800 took some time.)

nVidia  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Why does Nvidia suck?

They have the performence crown for both high-end and mainstream and are the best bang for your buck. The 6600 gt rules the mainstream and the 7800 GTXrules the high-end. The 6600 gt beats ati cards like the x700 and x600 easily and at a cheaper set. The 7800 GTX can be found for less than some x850 xt pe (ati's flagship) and is more than twice as powerful. SLI, exclusive to nvidia, (yes, i know about crossfire), gives nvida even more bragging rights, with a 6600 gt sli putting an x850 to shame and being cheaper. A 6800 gt sli costs about the same (or perhaps a bit more) and easily kills a x850.

I've never had a driver problem with them as long as I've used their latest drivers, which you should have anyway.

I'm not saying ATI is bad, but its very hard to make a case that at this point that Ati is better than nvidia.

I wish I had more faith in Ati, but they're losing me. I used to be exclusive to their products, all of my older computer still run 9800 pro or x800.

nVidia may be the only ones with SLi currently, but in about 6~8 months ATI will have their SLi cards, and nVidia will be put back in their place.

And I still believe that my X800 will out prefom a 66GT or 6800 any day, and the X850 XT PE's (512MB) still preform better than the 7800GTX

Agreed autopilot, if ATI relises something that will whoop Nvidias a$$ of course I buy it but sence ATI is tight lipped I don't have the slightest on what there new chip will be like...so im forced to buy Nvidia. Look at benchmarks and user satisfaction you will see Nvidia is the clear winner in the GF 6 series cards. I have yet to hear an educated reason why you ppl(ctjoyce) hate Nvidia so much. Its like "oh they suck driver problems and out X850PE got 1 more fps better so OMFGBBQ take your card and shove it."
BTW I will never support SLI or Crossfire, moneymakin thing that will lead us in a bad bad direction.
Lets see what you get in 3dmark2k1 Ctjoyce. ;)

The Only reason that i don't like nVidia is because when i uninstalled the old drivers to reinstall the better ones the graphics card kicked the bucket up untill this happened i was happy with the nVidia range of graphics cards.
But untill i save u enough money again to maybe purcase a better one i am going to stick with ATI (even though trying to find drivers for the old rage  graphics card is becoming very difficult *me mums got an old rage graphics card*)

If i had to choose between them both though, i prob would buy one of there cards each and work out which was better.

You can believe what you want, but the benchmarks present a different story. You have an x800 pro, which is easily defeated by a 6800 gt. Don't believe me, search for benchmarks results. The only time they come close is in half life 2. In some games, a 6800 gt will beat an x800 xt. Think I'm joking, see the chart and weep:
http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20050705/images/image009.gif
http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20050705/images/image019.gif
http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20050705/images/image031.gif
A regular 6800 can beat a x800 pro.

I can show more benchmarks from different sites, but the conlcusion is the same.

A 512 mb x850 xt pe will NOT beat a 7800 GTX. Tagging more memory onto a card does not increase performence twofold. The 7800 GTX has 24 pixel pipelines and the rendering gfx power to handle the full bandwidth of PCI-e. The x850 is a 16 pixel pipeline card which if it used all that ram would actually slow down due to how the additional 256mb is piggybacked on. And even IF the 512mb x850 is more powerful, its doesn't even exist save for a few prototype models demoed at some LAN parties. There is no retail 512 mb x850 xt pe, only a x850 xl 512mb which is a 12 pixel pipeline card; even less powerful than 6800 ultra.

nVidia may be the only ones with SLi currently, but in about 6~8 months ATI will have their SLi cards, and nVidia will be put back in their place.

Umm, ATI's 'SLI'??? First of all, if your going to bring it up, call it by its correct name 'crossfire'. Second of all, crossfire isn't even available on last generation cards (x800's). Forget crossfire for a current generation card, ATI has no current generation cards. Nvidia's SLI is available already on current generation cards (7800 GTX). Crossfire, Performence wise, well, who knows, crossfire has had no benchmark tests except the official benchmarks released by ati, but I'll take those with a grain of salt; even the official benchmarks aren't that spectacular anyway with very similar performence.

I'm sorry, your arguements flawed to the core.

I'm not trying to be harsh to ATI, keep in mind I'm one of their fans (albeit a disappointed one), but some of false info being said about ATI 'superiority' over nvidia needs to be rectified.
