Video Card Fan Konked OUT!!!

Postby lintonam » Sat May 07, 2005 9:54 pm

Well it all started out when I was flying around before school about a day or two ago and left flight sim running by mistake. When I came home there was a strong smell of electircal fire. Eventually I discovered there was smoke coming out the back of my PC. So Naturally I unpluged it and opened it up to discover my video Card was a little browner that before.

Now I need to Know what a good replacement card is for around $120 and it has to be PCI

Hey Mr Tantrum, don't blow your stack 'cos your naffy PCI card's died & gone to heaven !

Fly In was only trying to help, pointing out that an AGP is better than PCI.

Next issue, the FX5200 is a poor card, even in AGP format.

Do some research, you'll find, for little outlay, you can get into last years technology (get an AGP Motherboard) or, really come into the 21'st century and go for a current PCI-Express motherboard & card.

If you insist on a PCI card, yes, they exist, but are a pointless investment, unless of course, your paying about
