Computer problem.... Again!

Postby Gunny04 » Tue Mar 29, 2005 7:33 pm

This time, it was my mother, I told her Not to do surveys from unknown sites, and she did. Now I have so many pop ups from inside my computer it isnt even funny! Can anyone help me get rid of em? I run Adaware, Norton Antivirus, and spybot, I need to get rid of it! Any help would be great! Thanks, Cheers, Gunny04

Ok gunnie so this is how its gonna be. First we off your mother's internet privliges, shell miss them but shell get over it. Next explain to her that she woulnt actually get an iPod or a $50 gift card to bestbuy. After that get Spy Sweeper by werbout. Spy sweeper mya cost you $50 a year, but it will get rid of anything. After all of this set you coockie setting on med-high. Basically if none of this works you are gonna have to wipe your HDD and completely reinstall Windows.

Sorry to hear this, you really should have a good chat with her about these things. Let her know that these surveys that she does cause ad-ware, and spyware, and it allows people like me (yes I do moniter spyware) to view your online activity.

I would just wipe the hd and reinstall.

Then I would install a good anti-virus and a good anti-spyware.

Then give your mother a limited account on windows. Also, get er to use firefox.
