Postby JFG389 » Mon Mar 28, 2005 7:16 am

Hi tech people,

I bought this scannere in 2003 and used it very little but now it  does not scan to the view on PC. I tied to contack the Tech. people a Microteck but no answer. I downloaded the lastes driver and still no help. I us OS XP home and all its patches, any helps here?

Hi JFG. I don't know anything about this particular scanner but I suspect it could be drivers, especially if you've updated to WinXP since you last used it. You don't say where in this big wide world you are but did you try the Microtek support page? http://www.support.microtek.com/ You should be able to download the latest drivers for the scanner if nothing else. http://www.support.microtek.com/downloads/bymodelname.phtml?srch_in=scanmaker%204900&axn=2&slct_tbl=1&slct_mdl=14
That would be my first option.

Have you tried uninstalling ALL drivers and components that came with it ie, programs etc. and just plugging it in?

My mom has an HP Scanjet 3300 which will not work with her computer running windows XP home...even with the latest drivers isntalled...

So one day I think to my self.. "I wonder if I could just plug and play it into my computer..."

Sure enough windows came up and found it and it works just fine now... removed drivers from her pc and plugged it in and now it works fine.. ;-)

Not sure if it will help but it's always worth a try right?

Thanks B29 lover,

Tried as You say no go, Xp auto divers only finds the scanners I don't have or says I have a 2400 instead of 4900.
Enough of this, back to flying in my P51 Hd for support of B29, just kinding wish I could though.
