My sub wigged out!!

Postby Dan » Tue Mar 22, 2005 5:31 am

My nTech 16W 2.1 Channel Speaker System just wigged out... I was listening to a good song, with a fair bit of bass in it, (Sunest Strippers - Falling Star) and i goes 'click', 'thunk'. the on light dims and it starts humming.

The sub still works but very very quiet, and both sattelites do nothing at all now. I took the back off of the sub to see what was in there - the back of it is kinda blackened where the the PCB amp / distributer thingie is. Its a wooden box, so I don't know if its burnt or when they sprayed it black. It smells, but not that horrible stink you get. What do you think it is?

If i can't fix it then Im thinking of getting a 5.1 CREATIVE system. Im gonna take a look at OCUK to see what they've got.

:-/   Sounds fried to me!! Besides, you are missing SOOOO much without at least Surround sound and good Sound Blaster card. Love my SB Audigy2 Gamer card with my Altec Lansing Surround sound speakers.

Later I will upgrade to a complete 5.1 or 6/7 channel system.

To get the greatest benefit from a new 4 or 5.1 Sound Card, you are going to have to invest a little money in some speakers. But it is money well spent in my opinion as EVERYTHING sounds so much better and enhances your gaming or music listening experience.

Good luck and happy shopping!! Grab the plastic and off you go!! lol
Systemax Sabre Ultimate gaming rig.

I got all the goodies and all the power I need to run anything thrown at me for the next two months!
