3.6GHZ Alienware

Postby edzmen » Wed Mar 09, 2005 7:15 am

Im thinking of buying an Alienware Gaming PC with a 3.6 or 3.8 GHZ Pentium Processor.

It will also have 1G of RAM a 120GB HD and a ATI 8000 graphics card with Alienware video game performance enhancing software.

Will this system run FS2004 at max settings with life-like frame rates??

Anybody know?

[PS: Im only interested in Alienware PC's and same-spec-for-less PC's wont be taken into account.]

Well, from what I have heard Alienware's Kick @$$. so you can't go too far wrong. My spec (In siggy) runs it no trouble, so yes, that spec should do it easily, and DOOM3 should work too.  ;D

ATI 8000 graphics card

If thats what I think it is it won't be great :) Unless you mean an X800 ;)

I don't get this Alienware stuff. If anyone knew anything about PCs theyd build there own...... Much more fun & you get exactly what you want/need!

You'll probably save a quite a few bucks if you build your own PC with the same specs as the ailienware PC.
AMD Athlon 64 3700+
GeForce FX5200 256Mb
1GB DDR400 DC
Seagate 500Gb SATA-300 HDD
Windows XP Professional X64 Edition

That's right, I'm now using an AMD! I decided to give them another try and they

What an UGLY case :o
So gaudy!

My case however is simple and blends into my room. IMO PCs should not be seen or heard, quiet and invisible is the way to go 8)

Hey Andrew,

That is a seriously awesome case, although it looks much better in blue 8)

Think I might start putting my own system together soon ;)

I hate alienwares. Seriously, want the best performence for LESS money? Build you own computer.

-You choose the best components YOU want.
-No BS (juck software like AOl trails and the like)
-VERY good learning experience
-the satisfaction of being able to build a computer.
-Much cheaper, at least 500 dollars in savings for same/better compoents (newegg sometimes has great deals)

If you want a high-end computer, then build it.

Ya Alienware's computers are quite a rip-off,
U could build your own for less than half as much..

And even 'Tiny' Computers have done a 799 pound +3800 64 bit.. so there not hard to find.

I would think the Alienware would be a better investment then anything from Tiny  :o

Yeah, but from what I've heard, Tiny is a company you don;t really want to go near, Pcworld too.

As good as Alienware PC's seem to be, they really are awfully priced :-/

Is this what you meant?

That's the one, I can't believe the price considering the way it looks ;)

Think I might start putting my own system together soon ;)

If u do, goodluck!
Thanks, I'm not sure what I'm doing yet, although getting some money is always a good start ;D

Cheers,

Carl
