XP and Joysticks

 Can anyone help .  Fs2002 and CFS3 worked fine with my Top Gun Foox 2 Pro shock joystick.  Then came XP SP2  and I installed a new USB scanner.  The joystck will calibrate properly in both XP and within FS2002.  I've downloaded most recent drivers.  Disconnected the USB scanner, no digital camera attached either.  Still nothing doing .  The keyboard controls work fine and the joystick is DEAD.  Any suggestions welcome

Is your joystick USB, or Gameport?
I have heard that some Gameport joysticks will have problems with XP, but then I have heard some people say that they use Gameport joysticks with XP without a problem, personally all I have ever used is the USB joysticks...just an idea you might check out  ???

Hi MCC1,
I tried installing  a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro with XP and it would not work .  I was using the Gameport  .  Simply plugged it into a USB port with the adapter provided and it accepted it and works perfectly .  Surely you have checked to make sure your joystick is ON !!
