Computer crash after long flights

Hi. I have a p4 2.8 with 1gig ram and a crappy intel extreme2 v card. When I fly for more than a half hour or so my computer blue screens, the error report seems to indicate out of physical memory. I had the same problem, but worse (the crash happened sooner) prior to doubling my ram. I read an article a while back that suggested I change the scenery cfg file,(which I did), as fs9 has a problem not releasing scenery from memory after you leave the area. Unfortunately I don't have the article, and I don't remember the original cfg configuration. I'm not even certain this tweak has anything to do with the crashing problem. Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be?

You should not be running out of memory when you have 1 gig. You should try increasing the size of the windows page file and see if that solves your woes.

Depends on what windows OS you are running.

On XP Pro (its the same procedures on Home):
Start
My Computer (Right click)
Properties
Advanced (Its a tab a the top right corner)
Settings (the first one at the top, under the performence catagory)
Advanced (Its a tab)
Change (Its a button under the virtual memory catagory)

If you have multiple hard drives/partitions, then choose which one you want the page file on (it will tkae up space) at the top.

At the bottom, set it to the system recommened amount, or more if needed.

hey clipper, my pc's specs are very similar to yours. i also have the Intel Extreme Graphics 2. honestly though, its not that bad, but i am running FS2002 and not FS2004.

ok now fer ur problem. i have flown very long flights, some over 15 hours and even though i have the same video card as u,  this problem has never happened to me. also i suggest doing what "the_autopilot: suggested. it could help, but try to update the Video card drivers.

Well you are not alone but you got it a bit worse than me. I usually jst get the blue screen when I minimize/maximize my games to much and i usually just fashes and reboots system but it is getting worse I saw the blue screen and what it said the other day while i was at desk top. Sais something about memry errors I have pics of it. I have PC 2100 512 mbs RAM that has been OCd and is running with an OCd CPU so  that must not be helping it! The guys at overclockers said it was most likeley my RAM was getting to old and small. I need to ream anyways so I can get my OC to its limit! Try running MemTest for 24 hours and see if you get any errors...if so you are looking at an RMA...

Ashar, I agree our gear is pretty decent considering it's integrated graphics. Adding ram for me made all the difference.I push the sims settings big time since I upped my ram, I'm told heat may be an issue (the fan is on pretty well all the time I'm in the air), or the ram stick provided with the pc is shit. I'm going to change the stick provided by Dell a.s.a.p. I'll let you know...Next step may be better fans. Could you provide the link to driver upgrade? I'd appreciate it.
GunnerMan, what do you think of my potential solutions? I'll run the Mem Test for 24hrs. I'll post you on those results. Can you forward me pics  of your crash specs? I'll return the favour, though only at next blue screen occurance. I don't have them yet. Thanks all..
