Your sub-woofer should have its own effect volume control to set the bass from zero to max...!
Adjust the overall volume, and bass controls, until it sounds right...sorted...!

Cheers...!

Paul.

P.S. mine is the Creative Lab 1024 sound card and Cambridge Soundworks surround sound speaker system, with sub-woofer.
They can be adjusted independantly.

Now it's more or less a game of playing around to see what works and what doesn't work in terms of your tastes..;-)

The subwoofer is set up correctly if it is loud enough to change the rythym of your heartbeat  and knock stuff off shelves  :D

I really dont think this sub woofer is capable of sending stuff flying off shelves.... might be in the PSS Concorde at mach 2! lol,I can never crank my speaker volume anywhere after 75% its too loud! Cheers, Gunny

"If it is too loud, your too old!"  8)

I have managed to have mine loud enough to knock pictures off my wall! And it was grand!!
I'm lucky enough not to have any neighbors within a mile of me so volume has never been a question :)

With my Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS and 7:1 surround, by using the EAX console set on arena, I can pop in a "live album" and crank it and it is almost like being at a concert minus the smell of weed! LOL!

Speaking of sound cards, If I Bought a new one (Not the most expencive) Would my sound quality in FS Improve? I want to run the Sound acceleration max because music sounds horrible with it any lower, and FS sounds horrible with it high!!!!!!!! Wish everything would agree with me for once! Cheers, Gunny

PS I live in an apartment unfortunatly, I just turned all the way up nearly on star wars theme and about flew 3 feet back in comp chair! Dang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder what a 7.1 would do! Cheers!

I agree with you Gunny ;)

I bought the Sond Blaster Audigy 2 ZS less than a hundred and am very pleased not only with simming but music as well, of course most forget that even the highest priced sound carp will sound cheap on cheap speakers ;)
I recommend the Creative Inspire 7:1 speaker set up!!

Look at Buy.com, often they will have a bundle pack that includes the card and speakers for a awesome price, got mine for way less than $200 :)
