9800 Pro rocks!!

Postby L1011blonde » Fri Oct 15, 2004 10:18 pm

Hi everybody, I just managed to find a shockingly good deal .
I picked up a 128MB,256-bit Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro(a true 9800!!) from Newegg (www.newegg.com). I only paid $155.80 for it. How,you ask? refurbished..simple as that.
The difference between the 9800 Pro and my previous Radeon 9600XT 256MB (forced on me by a penny-pinching mom!!) is like night & day. I can now get 60-70 FPS just crusing, and 90-100+ FPS when I climb or turn.
My only worry is its 8:15 PM as I type this, and I don't think I'll
be able to sleep(superglued  to my pc playing FS2004,Far Cry,and listening to MP3s.)

Later,L1011blonde

Nice one L1011, good graphics sure make the difference.

You should be able to wind your settings up now to improve the quality, then you'll really see the difference.

My cousin showed me a link for new 9800 pro's for $150.
They were not ATI brand though.

He actually went down the road and bought one locally for $200, an ATI one. He flashed the BIOS to 9800XT even though his was only a 128mb caed, saying it took a while to find the correct bios that would work.

Since then, he doesn't talk to me anymore..... PFFF!
ATI snobbed.   :P
