Hi,
Thanks for that, but I was wondering if it was possible to actually purchase a joystick and a wheel and pedal set and to use them together in FS2004. (Or is that just me being very, very lazy...).
I have noticed that a lot of the driving sets seem to have the pedals plug into the wheels (or the other way around), but I'm not aware of a wheel and pedal set which allows you to use the pedals separately.
I have also read other forums in which various people have found that gameport joysticks may be incompatible with USB pedals etc. I'm wondering, for example, if I bought a sidewinder USB wheel and pedal set, and a sidewinder joystick - would I be able to assign the appropriate functions to the joystick and pedals in FS2004 and ignore the wheel altogether.
If this is new territory, it may be that I may have to just go ahead and try it out, and maybe post my results here, but I'd be grateful for any advice and experience people might have in this.
By the way, I'm only trying this route in an attempt to keep costs down. I believe CH Products can fulfill my desires quite adequately, albeit with a hefty price tag (for a novice). I just down want to go down that route if I happen to think a month down the line that flight sims aren't for me....
Cheers.
