Good spec PC buy?

FSB = 800Mhz. Proccessor = AMD 64. I don't mind what your opinions are, cos i don't wanna buy a dud machine!

I'm not impressed. Lots of icing, not enough cake.  I can't get specs on the monitor, it won't come up. I've had a K8V. besure to check the FSB on it, make sure it's 500MHz.

Okay, so what's the processor?

It's an Athlon64 3000+, I'd say that's pretty darn good for gamming. It's a good well rounded PC. The video card can do everything. I wish nVidia had their own All-In-Wonder. Remember guys that a computer isn't just for playing FS.

I've changed my mind... knowing the FSB and CPU (duh, didn't see the pics) I feel better.

If you do get the machine... checkout OmegaDrivers.net. They have taken the standard ATI drivers and tweaked them more toward gaming. I personnaly didn't notice much improvment, but many others have.

I'm not sure how much 700 pounds is exactly, but I figure it's around $1000, and I'd buy it for that much. Like Gixer said, I'd just add more memory. HDD sounds good. Onboard LAN is good. I have the 9800 Pro w/128 and I'm very happy with it. That card alone cost me $450.

Sorry to sound so negative... I am always very sceptical of package machines.

Only good thing with a package PC is the software, i.e. Windows etc u get with it in the price. Myself I will never buy a package PC again.  I like building them myself and you can usually make a tower yourself for cheaper than a package PC.

It doesnt appear to be that bad a deal. I built the tower from bits at overclockers and I think if anything the price for the package are a little better.  I think I would be happy with that tower for that price.  Though as soon as I had it the case would be open to ensure all the right bits were in there  ;)

Dont know what Lidl customer service would be like if it did go wrong though  ??? guess you got the 1year guarantee anyhow  ;D

It sounds good, and at a very low price (looking around it can't be beaten for the specs)  - I'm not at all sure though about the quality, especialy from lidl.

Deal of the week if it works, If it doesn't - then its not.
