Jockstick messed up.

Postby bozotheclown338 » Fri Jun 11, 2004 8:44 pm

I have had a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 for about a year now but now when i plug it in, the computer says nothing is connected.  >:( But when i use the steering wheel, it works fine. I would buy a new joystick, but i don't have enough money and my parents won't buy it for me. Has this happened to anybody else? ???

Do you have a some thing plugged into gameport? Check the control panel under game controllers to see if its 'connected'.

Yes it does have a cd and I tried reinstalling it but it does the same thing, and i added to the list before, then tried again. Thats what i mean, it doesn't say anything is connected. I think it might have to do with the cord.

Check along the cord/cable to see if there are any cuts on it... also check that there isn't any dirt in the USB/serial connector for the stick. Also check the back of the case where the joystick plugs in.

Hope this helps :)

Be careful of chairs with wheels. I've ruined two cables by running over them and there isn't a mark on the cable. The wires just get crushed.
