one step closer to virtual....

just got myself one of those Track IR2  thingies. :o :o :o ;D

i'm still getting used to using it and working out the settings to get it right where i want ..... but ......

i think this is the best piece of hardware ever created for the fs world.      you put a little reflector on your glasses, hat, or in my case ,mic.   and it tracks the dot with infra red.   you move your head the view pans with you.      works  great in FS9,  and IL2: FB,   no support for CFS3 yet :'(.

it works well out of the box,  but i originally thought it might be to jittery, and that i just needed to get use to controlling it.

however, since having it for a week or so, i have become familiar with the software and learned how to set up the profiles.  now, the view panning is so smooth, i don't know how i ever flew the sim without it.

i used to rely on the spot view because i couldn't grasp a good sense of depth from the cockpit, ( more so with helo's).  now, the only time i leave the virtual cockpit is to take screenshots ::)

if you have the means, i recommend the TrackIR2. it opens up a new world in flightsim.

( great now i sound like a sales rep.) ;D
