3.6k sounds right, 3k for np and 4k for xt.

It's an XP2400+ on an ASUS A7n266 VM   board. I started out with the onboard graphics but later moved to 440 card before going to the 9600. Part of the reason I wanted to get onto a newer 400fsb setup now prices are dropping.

I got the 4.3 cpanel last night and reinstalled the driver and panel. framerate around 9680, best so far in 3dmark2001 but the flickering got worse during dialogue screens etc. Inflight no problems.

Have been reading ATI faq about vgart. Might have skipped it when I last updated my motherboard drivers so need to read up on it.

Back to the drawing board!

Andy,

The flickering still happening is really weird.  Everyone else here who changed to the cat 3.9's and up had that go away.  ATI insisted that at the point the 3.9's were released the flickering was taken care of.  It had become a bit of a "hot button" issue for them.

It makes me wonder if your uninstall of the old stuff is really working.  Did you use the driver cleaner after using the ATI/Windows uninstall?

best,

Ok, I'm back. The previous couple of time I used the ATI cleaner but this time I used Drive Cleaner on drv. cpanel and hydravision. Also found I had the Nvidia driver from my last card so cleaned it as well.

The 4.3 driver and panel install went well but the flickering is still there, though not as bad as the last install.  I forgot to mention, I have a LCD panel if that makes any difference, Mitsubishi DV158 15in with vga input, not dvi. I thought I read something about that in a faq(ATI ?) but cant relocate it at present.

Will try and locate some of the earlier threads you mentioned.

Thanks, Andy
