Thanks for all your help guys, I've just ordered it! - I decided to go for it with the Corsair!  ::)

CPU: Pentium 4 3.2Ghz
Mobo: Asus P4C800 Deluxe
RAM: 1024Mb Corsair DDR-XMS 3700  :o
OS: Windows XP Home Edition

HD1: 120Gb SATA 7200rpm
HD1: 120Gb SATA 7200rpm

OD: 16x DVD-ROM
OD2: Sony DWA14a +/- DVD writer

Video card: 256Mb ATI Radion  pro 9800XT

Should take around 7-10 days  :( Plenty of time to prepare its shrine  ::) And time to plug the specs in my Avatar! Well im sure theres other things I can think about other then a super uber-computer winging its way over! But of coarse the main reason for getting it is for work..... (some pretty hi-speed word prossesing) .....

Thanks again!

Glad to be of help, Bird Man, let us know what you think of your new beastie..... (as if your not going to!  ;)  ;D  )

I eagerly await news of how CFS3 runs, if you have it, despite what I wrote earlier, even Tony's beast PC stutters from what he tells me! - I could cry!  ::)

I would do anything to avoid buying anything Intel - they have had us all by the balls for far too long and I am still smarting from the ripoffs they perpetrated with their 'upgrade' nonsense in the days of P66.  AMD and VIA offer kit which is up there with anything Intel and remember Cyrix R.I.P. and how they were torpedoed.  LONG LIVE AMD

Glad to get that off of my chest - feel better now !

I know I went completely against the SimV grain here but lets see what it can do when it comes! Fact of the matter is the Intel won the performance tests so I got that one!

just hope you dont have the problems other people have been faing as regards to ATI- fs9.. flickering and all that

I've wondered whether I did the right thing ever since I hit the 'Order' Button! But again the chart said the ATi was top so thats the one I got! You NVIDIA fans can have the last laugh though if It don't work though!

My "old" new computer came back from the menders yesterday and guess what........ An hour working and then the screen scrambles............. restart and go into FS screen goes patchy with black and all sorts of funny business!!!!

Perhaps I should try different video drivers. The forceware were giving excellent performance though.

I tell you the sooner this new one comes the better! I was in the middle of doing some work and it just randomly restarted! Lost all of what I was doing......

PS. Whatever the ATi problem is, it cant be worse then having great bug blank black bits in the middle of your flight setup window!!!
