The wingman force 3D with twist stick rudder, 7 programmable buttons, throttle slider, force feedback, smooth and not stiff stick.  8-way hat. Accurate and precise controlling.  I have heard that some microsoft ones cause the aircraft to dip when the stick is released, no such problems with the force 3D.  2 year warrenty... if that interests you.

This a sweet joystick.

I have the same one as Hyvry1 and also have had very good luck with it.

Had a gameport version before this USB one...and it too worked well for years.

best,

What kind of problems with Windows XP have you heard the Force Feedback 2 has? I just seemed to have some calibration issues with mine, the first time in over a year I've had it. It is a wonderful joystick, works with everything I've played, and the twist rudder comes in handy (when i get it working again GRRRR!!)

@Big Al
I've yust heard that some people had problems in getting the FF efects to work and that it is harder than ever to get support from Microsoft.

There are Issues with Sidewinder FFB 1 gameport joysticks and AC'97 onboard sound.

No such issues exist to my knowledge for the MS FFB2 sticks which use USB.

I have 2 sidewinders, one FFB and 1 non FFB. They have been good to me.

Out of production now, time is running out if you want one.

My M$ sidewinder FF2 has had very little use but I've just spent 14 hours straight trying to get it to work in FS2004 like it does in FS2002.  Don't waste your money!  The thing came out with a notice of the glitch and hasn't got any better.

Hi shedman......again,

Around 2 weeks ago I installed a ffb 2 on a friends comp running XP and fs2004 and it worked straight away without any tweaking. Just installed the game control software and away it went.

Could it be something to do with your m-board or sound card?

There seem to be 2 different MS sidewinder force feedback 2 Joysticks. The new "Hot Red Edition" has got translucent red fire buttons and trigger. Is this the only difference to the Original or are there some kind of improvements? I
