Configuring Sidewinder Force Feedback 1.0 in XP

Postby Moach » Sun Nov 09, 2003 3:11 pm

well i've got it working. :D

after 2 months trying, i managed to fix my Force Feedback joystick.
the only thing now is that i want to configure it's forces,
not the FlightSim force setup, i want to be able to turn down the return to center force tha't is a bit too strong.

if i had win98 i'd just go to joystick properties and trun it down from there, but windows XP detectes it automatically, so i only get the default calibration wizard there... nothing about forces.

which brings me to my question:

how do i do it?

I think this might be what you but if its not Im tring to fix my wingman force 3d too so you know how I feel.

Go to control panel/game controllers/ select your device go to properties and then click on settings then its at the bottom under Centering SPring just adjust it.
Believe half of what you see, 1/4 of what you hear, and nothing that I say

as i said, i only get the default calibration wizard, no fancy-schmancy properties. :P

that's why it's a problem...

Trouble is this isn't an XP joystick - it was for Win95/98

I've seen a lot of requests all over the place for XP drivers which is what you need. Not sure that you can get em. Sorry

Unlesds anyone else knows different.... ???
