Re: your first problem, jumpy rudder axis control, I had the same problem with my Logitech Wingman Extreme 3D. After taking the handle apart and putting it back togather, twice, it now works fine. Not sure it was something I did, or maybe Devine intervention or pity. I believe it was either the twist potentiometer was not seated properly on top of the white stem inside the handle, or the wire lead to the pot' was not properly positioned, puttin stress on the pot'. I paid attention to both when reassembling.
As for the blackout, if you were in fs9 at the time, and power simply shut off, without a normal system shut down, files may have been corrupted. Its possible that reconfiguring the joystick, first thru control panel or the logitech profiler, and then from fs9's option menu will fix it..
