GF4 MX440, Dirt cheap, frankly crap compared to an FX5200!

An Ati 9000 Hmm, not to sure, I'd go for the FX5200

The Ati 9800 or Pro, Well, if I had the sort of money they cost, I'd have bought one a long while back.......

I'm happy with my FX5600 - Middle of the road you may say.......

On a performance scale from 1 to 10, the MX440 scores about 3, an FX5200 I'd give a 8 - considering it offers mid range GF4ti performance from an MX priced card!

The Ati 9800, I'd say 6, yes its fast, but its damn expensive and at that sort of price level, the FX5900 is currently the king.

   Oh ya, 5900 is certainly king. Everything else bows before it.  ;)  $500 though. I guess if your really, really determined you could. Thx for your reply.

if ur buying one of those, get the 9800, if u want somethin else, get a GeForce 4 Ti4600
Still have a nice PC but I just switched to a hella nice mac

Alright, I got another comparison...

The GeForce 5600 Ultra 128MB
And the ATI 9600 Pro 128MB

The ATI 9600 costs alittle less, but is it better? I've got a comparison chart, that say the 9600 is much better. Any thoughts?

i have heard bad reviews about the 5600 but not sure about the 5600 ultra i assume it is better by far going by previous ultra cards... as for performance i think there along the same lines maybe the 5600 is a little quicker... the 5600 was designed to rival the 9600 i think

comparing the 5600 to the gf4 ti4200 128mb is a healthier comparison.. the ti trouces the 5600 until you start turning on anti aliasing and multi texturing..this is where the 5600 shines but still slightly slower performance compared to the 9600 pro. i am happy with the 5600 but i was considering buying the ti4200 (mostly for its overlclocking potential) before i bought it

Beware of ATI. Many have had problems with their cards. However if your looking for a beefy all in one home entertainment card, then the All-In-Wonder is your choice. As far as I know, Nvidia doesn't make a card like that. However I don't think the All-In-Wonder is exactly a hot seller so that would explain why Nvidia hasn't entered this market. However there is Nvidia Personal Cinema which is software coupled with an external all in one device.

For standard cards, the FX series is king in my opinion. Go for the FX5200 for value, the FX5600 for quality, or if you have more money than sense, go for the big beefy FX5900.
