Console versions of the new IL-2?

Anyone have them yet? Is it worth getting?

I saw it for PS3 last night, but wasn't sure what to expect so I passed it up until I could get some more informed opinions. ;)

Have you tried the demo? ;)
Not really sure about the new IL-2 - haven't heard much about it.

Try and get a hold of the demo. I played the demo for Xbox 360 and it was fairly alright. For a flight simulator on a console, it isn't half bad. Most of the others ones are really quite poor in comparison.

I would get it if you are into that genre of flight sim. The controls are pretty good, the game plays well and the physics aren't too bad for the realistic option modes.

Me too Bob, as it's probably my next game purchase for the PS3. ;)

Have you hooked yours up to the internet yet?

Just ordered everything last night from my favorite store "Amazon"  ;D Going to hook up to the internet first thing. Main reason for getting it was for the Netflix unlimited streaming movies for $9.00 bucks a month. Getting tired of watching the same old crappy movies that hardly ever change month after month on HBO, Stars, and Showtime. The Netflix deal is a whole lot cheaper and I can watch movies when I want on demand.

I just downloaded the demo through the Playstation Store on the PS3, and I must say I'm quite impressed.  :o

It comes with a few missions and the tutorials, and is unlimited time.  Worth checking out if you're still interested Bob.  ;)

It's a big download though, it took about 30min on my high speed connection, but it was worth it.

I hope they can get future flight sims to look something like this.  But I imagine that most of it is due to the PS3's insane CPU and graphics chip.  Maybe FS going to a console wouldn't be such a bad idea, if they could work out the user added content side of things.
It would be nice to get this kind of visuals & performance in a causal flight sim environment.  8-)

I have a Xbox 360 and was getting ready to go buy this. I played the demo and I have to say I liked what I saw on it. Though, I have heard people keep comparing it to the Blazing Angels series. Does IL2 seem better than Blazing Angels? Or are you guys mostly PC or PS3 users? I don't know if Blazing Angels is on PS3 or PC. Does IL2 control better on the PC to you guys than console? Just wondering if the game would work with a Control yoke instead of a joystick because I hope to get a yoke pretty soon and rather fly with it than this crummy joystick I got now.

I've played the Blazing Angels Demo on PS3, and I'd have to say, I much prefer IL-2.

It just seems more authentic to me.   8-)

I'm not a real fan of blatantly arcade flight games.

Finally picked this up for the Xbox 360 today. None of the stores locally had it for the PC, so I guess I'll just make do with the 360 version. Does anybody here play this online anymore?  The bad thing about the flight game I used to play before this (Ace Combat 6--great game btw, if you don't have it I really recommend it. Plus, if you fly with my custom music soundtrack to it, its really cool. I'll have to post the songs so you guys can see if you would like it.) is that getting people to play online is almost like pulling teeth.  That or the ones you can play with are so hardcore they can run circles around you before you can step on the gas to chase em.

Finding any PC game in a store today is next to impossible.
It's become much cheaper for companies to release download versions of their PC products than to make a bunch of hard disk copies that are going to sit on store shelves forever.

I got my PC copy of IL-2 from Steam online, dirt cheap.  ;)
