Campaign Missions

I'm wondering what needs to be done to get your wingmen to return to base, so that the mission can be successfully completed?

Will my wingmen follow me home if I land?  Is there a return to base command for wingmen?

My Wingman Follow Me Home, but when i land and pull across to the Apron i see them all crash on Final Approach, What's that about??
No wonder i cant Win a campaign with my entire Squadron Dying after Every Mission!!!

Now I'm trying to find out how to successfully complete a Recon mission.  Any suggestions?

I think you need to hang out in the target era for about 5 minutes until the next waypoint comes alive.
