"Network Error" Can't Log Into CFS3

Postby Yourrid » Sat Feb 25, 2006 7:00 pm

Hey guys, I was wondering if you all could help me. I am unable to log into CFS3 when I want to play multiplayer. An error message comes up when I try to log in saying, "Network error, please close multiplayer menu and try again." Anyone know how I can fix this? I bought the game mainly for online play, but am unable.

I called MS support for the game, except I eneded up talking to some lady in the Philipines who (I don't think) has a clue about computers.

Im connected to a wireless Linksys router which I think might be the problem.

If anyone knows how to fix this problem I would be very greatful if you could share your knowledge.

Thanks!
Adam

well  you'll need  to go into the router config ,  and  set  the  DMZ  to allow  the  port forwarding.
this wont leave you vulnerable, but  will let  you fly multiplayer.
then,  what firewall are  you using ? Windows firewall behind  your NAT firewall ( in the router ) is useless.
Now  how  many pc's  are  on your network ? this  will be the next  issue  to handle,   setting  the gaming rig's  NAT IP  to static  so there isnt any conflicts.

dont ya just  love  how  they  come in...  ask  for  advice,
 then  nothing...
simply amazing how little  they consider our  side.

I  did  a Rant ,  @ SOH forums,  guess  it's  time for one here.
seems  there  are  2 types  of  simmers...   those  who love  them ,  and  those  who (*simply) think they wanted to try one.
(*- means no thought, no "reading investment",  just ,Plug n Play)
funny  how  little  they grasp about how much more there is to the sims...  such  as CFS3... where  the objective is  to "motivate you to plan out , and think of the goals, to actually Immerse yourself into the game.
I mean  Beyond  the  Dogfight ,  to  flying  missions,  using strategy , and  then to follow thru.
I  get  really  mad   when  they  pop in ,   consume a slot...   discover  that  it isnt a dogfight , ( even though the room  says  CLEARLY - MISSION on it )  then  they  leave ,  and  take  away  that slot  and airplane ,  that  those  who stay  the trip lose out on.
or those  who everytime ask  those  same  questions  ... I mean  greasy whiskers, if you are  in a game,  spawning out  @ 20 angels ( thats  20,000 feet, to those who never read anything historical, with  war jargan in it ) and  they  cant get their engine to run...
I mean  basic  settings  are  the  same  no matter  what  the  Flight Sim is.
I  had  the  same  settings  in  CFS1,  back  6-7 years ago,   and  use  the  same  ones  ,  in  2, 3 IL2, & FS9.

I  went  off alot  meaner  @ SOH,  and  seems I  dont  want  to duplicate  that  here,  ... must have vented  enough to relieve  that  pain.
If  you  are  here reading...  I apologise ,
BUT make it a point  to PUSH those  goofballs ,  to get here..  I do...  then  I my rule is  one  time,  beyond  that to answer them,  and  on my banned list they go.

funny  when  you  consider , I had CFS3  since it was released....  and  even though  my  name has changed... I know alot of the old pilots  there ,  and  with them al in my friends list,  theres  MORE on my BANNED list now from exactly what I am grumbling about.
